Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Reviews and interprets electrical circuit diagrams required for the maintenance and safe operation of elevators. Trouble shoots, repairs and maintains the various types of automatic elevators, including drum, hydraulic, single and double traction machines. Maintains and services associated operating equipment such as controllers, selectors, generators, cab and hatch doors, and safety equipment and controls. Re-ropes all types of elevators. Replaces tapes as required and inspects and maintains shaft guide rails. Performs inspections and makes repairs on equipment or systems as required by Verizon Practices and/or local ordinances. Works at unusual heights from the top of the elevator cab and in hoist way, when necessary. Climbing ladders, working aloft, and moving/lifting items generally not exceeding 100 lbs. Travels from one building location to another by public transportation or company vehicle. Evacuates people from elevator when required. May be required to perform additional duties and tasks as required by the Company. Working evenings, weekends, holidays and unscheduled shifts as determined by the needs of the business. Work tour hours are 7am to 4pm, Monday through Friday (hours may vary). Overtime is as needed by the business. What we're looking for...
