Mobile Equipment Mechanic

The newly created Company, FerroWorks, has locations in Pittsburgh, McKees Rocks, and Kutztown, PA including McConway and Torley and Standard Forged, which have been in continuous operations since 1869, the same year the first US transcontinental railroad was completed. As McConway is the original designers of the first standard automatic coupler, continued innovation and craftsmanship have and has led to a product line that includes every ARR approved coupler as well as custom coupler solutions, which are all proudly cast in the US. McConway and Torley is looking for a Mechanic . As a Mechanic you will provide assistance to production crews in mechanical and machine operations, building and facilities and associated equipment. You will be primarily working on and servicing the mobile equipment that we have at the plant.

What You'll Do:

With readily available technical guidance, keep mobile equipment in good repair. Respond in a timely manner to work orders and management requests. Examine a variety of machines to diagnose trouble and recommend repair. Dismantle mobile equipment, replace defective parts, reassemble mobile equipment and make necessary adjustments to ensure efficient operation. Assist more experienced maintenance mechanics as assigned. Follow all safety regulations and company policies regarding safety. Work around a wide variety of equipment, chemicals and machinery; must be aware of safety hazards at all times. Perform any and all other job related tasks as assigned. Available to work any and all shifts.

What You'll Need:

At least 2 years of related experience High school diploma

Working Conditions:

Work environment includes plant, warehouse, production and non-production areas and plant grounds. This position may require work/maintenance coverage beyond the normal hours, shift, and on weekends/holidays Ability to tolerate both high and low temperatures, loud noises typical of a manufacturing plant
