Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
This position maintains and repairs plant pumps and related equipment at PSA and at all lift stations.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Note:
The list below is not comprehensive; this job is also responsible for other duties as assigned. 1. Repair - This position receives work orders daily for any and all repair work required from the previous day. This includes repairs to pumps, air compressors, equipment, vehicles, trunk lines outside of the plant perimeter, and may also include assisting the electricians and grounds maintenance. The incumbent will determine the priority order for those work orders, depending upon the severity of the problem, time needed for the repair, whether or not there is a back-up system in place, and impact to the overall operation of the repair. The incumbent will troubleshoot, and when possible, make the repair immediately. Trunk lines may require crawling into confined spaces. Management will be alerted immediately if the repair requires outside assistance. 2. Preventive Maintenance - Based upon a predetermined maintenance schedule for all equipment, this position will complete the assigned tasks on an ongoing basis throughout the year. 3. Housekeeping - The incumbent is expected to use all safety precaution and maintain a safe and clean environment at work. This position works with daily supervision, receiving work orders from management and reporting progress on a daily basis. The major challenge for this position is finding out-of-date parts, or manufacturing something that can work in its place. There is also, from time to time, serious time constraints in making the repairs.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB
This job has specific physical requirements such as lifting, driving, ability to travel, etc. (Please specify in the box immediately below.) lifting up to 50 lbs, crawling in confined space, weather hazards, chemicals, hazardous waste.

REQUIRED EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND AND JOB-RELATED EXPERIENCE
Minimum Level of Job-Related Education:
technical certificate in a trade preferred
Minimum Amount of Job-Related Experience:
2 years mechanical experience in an industrial environment Minimum Level of any Required Qualifications, Licenses, Certificates, Registrations, or any
Relevant Knowledge, Job Skill or Equivalent Experience:
safety procedures; CDL preferred
