Electrical knowledge is required This position is required to work on all assigned task and will work under the supervision of the maintenance supervisor. Must be able to demonstrate the ability to repair, troubleshoot and upgrade a variety of industrial machines and equipment in our steel manufacturing facility. In this role, the incumbent is responsible for completing maintenance service and repairs of plant equipment, machinery, etc. This role is also responsible for maintaining buildings and plant facilities in clean, orderly and working conditions, in addition to, building a positive working relationship across other departments with a main focus on production.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or GED, plus 4-6 years of progressive related work experience An active Journeyman license and maintain for continued employment.
QUALIFICATIONS 1.
Knowledge of industrial maintenance 2. Knowledge of equipment maintenance and technical understanding 3. Knowledge and understanding of Lock Out/Tag Out procedures and requirements 4. Knowledge of Safety Rules and Procedures 5. Knowledge of equipment maintenance and technical understanding 6. Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing and carpentry 7. Must be a self-starter with excellent organizational skills 8. Must be able to follow deadlines and work under pressure 9. Must be able to management deadlines with conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment. 10. Must be ability to read, write and speak English 11. Skill in use of power tools 12. Skill in effective communication 13. Ability to work independently or as part of a team. 14. Successfully pass an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic test, a background check, including criminal history, drug screen, physical, audiogram, and vision test.
RESPONSIBILITIES 1.
Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, electrical schematics, hydraulic schematic, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions. 2. Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments. 3. Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts. 4. Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments. 5. Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges. 6. Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance. 7. Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies. 8. Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results. 9. Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests. 10. Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs. 11. Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. 12. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. WORKING CONDITIONS 1.
Maximum shop exposure 2. This position requires walking, sitting or standing to a significant degree and lifting up to 50 pounds 3. During the course of work, the incumbent will be subject to seasonal weather conditions 4. Employee must wear proper Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) at all times. 5. Travel between the plants may be required. 6. Perform work standing up for 8-10 hours per day and up to 6 days a week. 7. Good vision, hearing, smell and balance. 8. Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. 9. Ability to stand, bend, stoop, squat or kneel regularly as well as climb stairs and ladders. 10.
