Required skills:
  • Must exhibit strong fabrication skills with focus on producing accurate results.
  • Works well within a team environment to solve project and business issues.
  • Must be a good self-starter and have the ability and desire to learn new equipment, hardware, techniques, and products.
  • Strong time management skills and attention to details.
  • Basic math skills including use of fractions.
  • Ability to use common hand tools and fabrication equipment, such as power saws.
Preferred Skills:
  • Interpreting fabrication drawings, schematics, and diagrams for mechanical, piping and electrical systems
  • Ability to measure, mark, cutt, trim and shape materials like metal, plastic, or wood.
  • Welding, brazing, and soldering pieces to create finished parts.
  • Understanding of mechanical, plumbing, and electrical fabrication, construction, and manipulation methods.
  • Good troubleshooting, testing and maintenance skills for mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems
  • Strong candidates will demonstrate spatial reasoning, communication and observational skills.
  • Understanding of prioritization of work as it relates to project scheduling and execution.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, organized work environment.
  • Work in fabrication shop utilizing basic hand and power tools, taking accurate measurements, cutting and fitting off-the-shelf and custom components.
  • Overtime may be required during peak times.
  • Read, interpret, and fabricate per project design drawings.
  • Rationalize design drawings, identifying problems related to fabrication prior to execution.
  • Fabrication with various plastics and polymer structural members, and piping, including fitting, joining, sealing, and welding.
  • Fabrication with various Metal and Alloy Pipe and Tubing, including fitting, joining, sealing, and bending.
  • Fabrication with various Metal, Plastic, and Bonded Conduit, including fitting, joining, sealing, and bending.
  • Fabrication with various Metallic and Fiberglass structural members, including Strut, Beam, Channel, Angle, Grate, etc.
  • Fabrication with various Metallic and Fiberglass Enclosures, Panel Construction and Electrical Wiring.
  • Fabrication with various Electrical Wiring in Control Panels, Induction and DC Motors, Variable Frequency and DC Drives, Instrumentation and Electronics.
  • Redline design drawings to be resubmitted to the Engineering Department for correction based on final construction.
  • Perform administrative and related responsibilities as assigned.
  • Perform building maintenance as needed and assigned.
  • Perform equipment maintenance or installation as needed and assigned.
Required Education:
  • High School Degree or G.E.D.
  • Preferred candidates will have Technical Trade School training or equivalent experience in mechanical and electrical drafting.
Work Environment:
  • Spends most of time in a small business shop environment.
  • Some time may be spent out of the office at client facilities for installation, repair, or alteration of new or existing equipment.
Physical Demands:
  • Frequent lifting, pulling, standing, and equipment operations up to 50 lbs.
  • Work in a principally unconditioned shop environment.
  • Picking parts, packaging equipment, boxing, shipping, moving, and organizing parts and equipment, sitting, standing, walking, wearing personal protective devices, etc.

$24.00 - $28.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
