The Longview, TX team is adding a Mechanic I to the team. The Mechanic I will perform intermediate-level mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair on production equipment, machinery, and facility systems. This role requires a solid understanding of mechanical systems and the ability to work independently or as part of a team to maintain equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform routine and preventive maintenance on mechanical systems, including motors, conveyors, pumps, hydraulics, and pneumatics. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues in a timely and effective manner to support production operations. Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and equipment manuals. Fabricate and install mechanical components as needed using hand and power tools. Perform equipment inspections and document findings using maintenance management systems (CMMS). Assist in root cause analysis for recurring mechanical failures and recommend corrective actions. Maintain a clean and safe work environment, following safety protocols and company procedures. Collaborate with other maintenance staff, electricians, engineers, and operators to support equipment performance. Ensure proper use and care of tools, equipment, and personal protective equipment (PPE). Provide guidance and support to junior mechanics as needed.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or vocational training in mechanical systems preferred. 3-5 years of experience in industrial, manufacturing, or facility maintenance roles. Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including bearings, gearboxes, chains, belts, hydraulics, and pneumatics. Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues with minimal supervision. Familiarity with CMMS and basic computer skills. Welding and fabrication experience a plus. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand for extended periods, and work in various conditions (indoor/outdoor, hot/cold, noisy environments). Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
