Job Description
Under direct supervision, responsible for assisting or performing housekeeping and skilled mechanic duties in the repair and maintenance of conveyances. Responds to equipment trouble reports, determines problem(s) and repairs and restores the elevator equipment to serviceable status.
Schedule:
7:45am-4:15pm Monday thru Friday Mechanical knowledge of elevator maintenance and repair and ability to use hand tools, power tools, test lamps, ammeters, voltmeters, and other testing/measuring devices. Ability to read schematics. Demonstrates the ability to follow troubleshooting and testing protocols of equipment and comply with all safety/OSHA regulations, state law and building codes. Exhibits accuracy and thoroughness; monitors own work for quality. Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to perform inspections as required by law.EDUCATION
High school diploma or GED is required.LICENSES
Valid Texas driver's license is required - must have a clear driving record. This position may require the ability to maintain the security and integrity of UT San Antonio and its infrastructure per TexasEO-GA-48.
Repairs and maintains elevators, and dumb-waiters to meet safety regulations and building codes, using hand tools, power tools, test lamps, ammeters, voltmeters, and other testing devices. Works safely and effectively in confined spaces and at high altitudes, adhering to all applicable safety protocols and regulations. Locates and determines causes of trouble in brakes, motors, switches, and signal and control systems, using test lamps, ammeters, voltmeters and other various tools. Disassembles defective units and repairs or replaces parts, such as locks, gears, cables, electric wiring, and faulty safety devices, using hand tools. Installs push-button controls and other devices to modernize elevators. Lubricates bearings and other parts to minimize friction. Performs all other duties as assigned.Similar jobs in San Antonio, TX
