Job Description

Under general supervision, responsible for performing skilled mechanic duties in the repair and maintenance conveyances. Responds to equipment trouble reports, determines problem(s) and repairs and restores the elevator/escalator equipment to serviceable status.
Schedule:
7:45am to 4:15pm Monday-Friday. Overtime is required. In-depth mechanical knowledge of elevator maintenance and repair and ability to use hand tools, power tools, test lamps, ammeters, voltmeters, and other testing devices. Ability to read schematics. Demonstrates the ability to follow troubleshooting and testing protocols of equipment and comply with all safety/OSHA regulations, state law and building codes. Exhibits accuracy and thoroughness; monitors own work for quality. Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to perform inspections as required by law.
EDUCATION
High school diploma or GED is required.
LICENSES
Must possess valid Texas driver's license - clean driving record is required.
Preferred:
Certified Elevator Technician license or equivalent. Repairs and maintains elevators, escalators, dumb-waiters and other various lifts in compliance with safety regulations and building codes. Tests equipment to troubleshoot and locate/determine electrical/mechanical issue with brakes, motors, switches, door systems and signal/control systems. Disassembles defective units and repairs or replaces parts, such as locks, gears, cables, electric wiring, and faulty safety devices. Installs push-button controls and other devices to modernize elevators. Performs preventative maintenance in accordance with published schedules, operating procedures and equipment warranties. Trains and provides guidance to Elevator Mechanic Associate staff. Performs all other duties as assigned.
