Industrial Instrumentation and Controls Mechanic

Step into a day as our Industrial Instrumentation and Controls Mechanic In this hands-on role, you keep precision at the heart of our operations—installing, repairing, calibrating, and maintaining plant chemical process control equipment, heat treatment furnaces, and related electronic systems. You'll work 100% onsite in Ogden, UT and report to the Senior Technical Services Manager. Your day might look like this:

Kickoff:

Review oral and written instructions and prioritize work orders with the Senior Technical Services Manager.

On the floor:

Install, troubleshoot, and repair electronic equipment, thermoelectric elements, pressure and flow devices, gas chromatograph instruments, and pH instruments and elements.

Calibration time:

Calibrate temperature and pressure elements to National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) traceability and produce physical calibration records.

Furnace focus:

Service and verify heat treatment furnaces to maintain reliable process performance.

Valve work:

Rebuild and install valves, valve positioners, and other flow devices.

Documentation:

Maintain preventive maintenance logs, other test records, and a well-organized library of calibration manuals.

Cross-functional support:

Partner with Engineering and Quality on material qualification and testing; support customer audits.

Shop coordination:

Align area activities with the central maintenance shop for efficient scheduling and execution. Tools, systems, and media you'll handle Electronic and pneumatic test equipment; small hand tools Valves; pH and conductivity instruments; flow analyzers; pressure devices; regulators; recorders; controllers; thermal elements Wiring, pneumatic tubing, fittings, valves, controllers, sensors Process equipment that handles acids and other chemicals Programmable logic controllers (PLCs) Location and reporting Ogden, UT — 100% onsite Reports to: Senior Technical Services Manager What you bring High School Diploma or GED (required) Five (5) years of instrumentation and control experience, including at least three (3) years in a comparable industrial environment Trade or technical school education in industrial instrumentation maintenance may count toward part of the experience requirement Proficiency in PLC wiring Demonstrated maintenance and repair skills
