Job Description
This position is open to in-house Borough applicants only, through July 27, 2026, closing at 5 p.m. If an internal hire is not made, the recruitment will open to the public. $24.29-$26.17 per hour, DOE Perform a variety of tasks in the operation, maintenance and improvement of the airport, roads, structures, and related facilities. Will operate light, medium, and heavy construction equipment, snow plows, sweepers, spreaders, and trucks. Operate a variety of airport systems and maintenance equipment, including trucks, front-end loaders, graders, snow plows, fork lifts, sweepers, spreaders, HVAC equipment, boilers and various other equipment. Repair runway/taxiway and associated systems, roads, bridges, culverts, docks, and other airport facilities such as building equipment and signs. May provide assistance to Airport Technician/ARFF personnel in general and skilled maintenance and repairs to buildings and systems that may involve painting, sand blasting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, and general labor. Perform Airport beautification tasks involving gardening, garbage control, etc. Perform snow/ice removal and control operations using snow/ice removal and control equipment and materials. Conducts movement area safety checks. Operate hand tools and power tools including saws, jack hammers, pumps, brush cutters, generators, compressors, welders, and various other equipment. Perform minor equipment repairs and maintenance. May provide assistance to Airport Equipment Mechanics on an as needed basis. May respond in a support role to emergencies at the airport involving disabled aircraft or other situations involving coordinating radio or telephone calls or shuttling equipment.
