Job Description

Basic Function Assist maintenance technicians in performing a variety of maintenance duties, including basic electrical, plumbing, and other repair work.
Essential Duties:
Lubrication of equipment (under supervision of Maintenance Tech). Assist Maintenance Technicians. Assist in cleaning, parts running, painting and tool caddying. Maintain a safe working environment in accordance with company policy by closely monitoring the safe use of equipment and work habits in and around the work area. Responsible for staying updated on current company policies as they relate to safety. Develop, implement and maintain Everyday Focus activities to ensure continuous improvements and cost efficiencies in position and department.
Secondary Duties:
Assist in the performance of basic electrical and plumbing jobs. Assist in the repair of appliances. Other duties as assigned.
Position Specifications:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
Minimum of 0-1 year experience. Must be able to follow directions and work independently on occasion. Written and verbal communication skills necessary. Must successfully complete the HRA ammonia training course in 30 days. Must successfully complete the UniSea Forklift driver training program.
Analysis & Creativity:
Largely repetitive work; specified practices limit analysis and ingenuity.
Organizing:
Very limited range. Planning on a daily basis with little variation in load.
Contacts:
Contact with members within the department and outside the department and/or company on routine matters.
Working Conditions:
Frequent (over 50%) exposure to undesirable elements with several continuously present.
