Regional Maintenance Director Brief Overview & Know How Maintenance staff assists in the set-up and maintenance of the homes, properties, and facilities of Volunteers of America Southeast. This position requires a person to be at least eighteen (18) years of age or older with some ability in residential maintenance. A basic knowledge of household repairs when needed. The position requires the ability to do general repairs, maintenance, janitorial duties and other related tasks. Maintenance workers must be able to lift up to 75 lbs. and possess a valid driver's license. Maintenance workers must comply with the vehicle insurance criteria. Successful candidates for Maintenance must be able to meet/perform the following requirements and tasks or complete in house training to successfully complete these tasks. Be comfortable performing work around elderly, physically challenged, or mentally challenged individuals. Climb tall ladders/work from heights. Install a window blind. Patch and repair sheet rock. Read and understand instructions on how to assemble various items. Lift 50-100 pounds (ladders, couches, beds.) Replace a ballast in a fluorescent light. Replace a light fixture or exit light. Replace a ceiling fan. Replace electrical elements on stove tops or in ovens. Unstop a toilet with a plunger or a snake. Replace a toilet and everything that goes along with the replacement. Take apart a sink drain to clean or unclog it. Replace a faucet. Performs additional duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor. Full Time Benefits Package offered!
