Job Description

General Maintenance Technician Eureka Springs Hospital Full-Time Purpose:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled General Maintenance Technician to join our maintenance team at Eureka Springs Hospital. The primary purpose of this position is to ensure that all functions of the hospital are kept in top working order, providing a safe and comfortable environment for our patients, staff, and visitors.
Scope of Responsibilities:
The General Maintenance Technician will be responsible for the general maintenance and upkeep of hospital grounds, including but not limited to:
  • Performing painting, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry tasks as necessary.
  • Conducting regular inspections and maintenance of hospital systems.
  • Responding promptly to maintenance requests from various departments
  • Ensuring compliance with all safety codes and hospital policies.
Educational Requirements/Job Knowledge:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic knowledge of hospital operations and the ability to troubleshoot hospital systems effectively.
Physical Requirements:
Candidates must meet the following physical requirements to perform essential job functions: 1. Ability to withstand considerable walking, standing, sitting, bending, kneeling, and stooping on a daily basis. 2. Ability to lift at least fifty (50) pounds unassisted. 3. Visual acuity for accurate reading of computer spreadsheets, gauges, computer screens, and reports. 4. Ability to hear with or without correction. 5. Ability to manipulate small tools and office equipment. 6. Ability to spend up to ten percent (10%) of working time outside in varying temperatures. 7. Tasks may involve occasional exposure to blood, body fluids, and tissues.

  • Follow department policy and procedures consistently.
  • Deliver quality work on maintenance projects.
  • Manage time efficiently to complete tasks effectively.
  • Take initiative to learn new maintenance techniques and skills.
  • Maintain knowledge of all hospital and safety codes.
  • Perform all physical job requirements reliably.
  • Be consistently punctual for shifts and scheduled workdays.
  • Show a willingness to work overtime when required.
  • Maintain a positive attitude toward staff, patients, and families.
