Job Description

Description The incumbent is responsible to perform maintenance in the parks as scheduled by the Building Maintenance Supervisor, which may include nights and weekends.
Safety/Security Sensitive Designation:
This position is classified as safety/security sensitive under the Arkansas Medical Marijuana Amendment and is therefore subject to random drug and alcohol testing. Job Duties Provide good customer service to both internal and external customers; maintain positive and effective working relationships with other City employees (especially members of their own team), and have regular and reliable attendance that is non-disruptive. Operate maintenance equipment including, but not limited to riding lawn mowers, push mowers, weed trimmers, chain saws, and hand tools. Operate heavy equipment including a front end loader, tractor, drag, four wheelers, Gators, three-point power rake, and welders. Coordinate the fulfillment of needs of parks and equipment with the Building Maintenance Supervisor. Inspect park areas and equipment as scheduled. Responsible to acquire all tickets from purchases and submit them to the Building Maintenance Supervisor. Report vandalism and hazardous conditions to the Building Maintenance Supervisor. Responsible to follow safety procedures set by the Department. Repair equipment as necessary. Keep park facilities clean, maintained, and stocked with supplies as needed, which may occur on nights and weekends. Perform other duties as required or assigned. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED and two years of related experience and/or training. (Ball field maintenance preferred.) Valid Arkansas Driver's License. Must be proficient in the use of mowers, weed trimmers, chain saws, power tools, Gators, tractors, four wheelers, front end loaders, power rakes and welders. Ability to utilize both internal and external resources to obtain information and data necessary to carry out routine assignments and special projects. Must have ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management and staff. Supplemental Information Must successfully pass criminal background check, including but not limited to convictions, guilty pleas, or no contest pleas to violent offenses, theft offenses, and offenses against children.
