Videos Duties Help Some of the major duties you will perform include but are not limited to the following: Conducts a variety of general and preventive maintenance tasks and repairs. Includes, but is not limited to, electrical, welding, plumbing, HVAC systems and general construction tasks. Conducts all tasks reled to the maintenance and function of vehicles, heavy equipment, and machinery. Incudes routine preventive and corrective maintenance, diagnose malfunctions, repairs, and adjustments to vehicles, machinery, equipment, and any tachments. Operes a variety of types of heavy equipment for earth moving and facilities maintenance including, but not limited to, farm-type tractors, backhoe, loaders, excavors, bulldozers, and forklifts. Implements may include mowers, augers, plows sprayers, discs, etc. Applies pesticides using tractor mounted equipment, and off-road vehicles. Operes a variety of motor vehicles including tactor trailers, truck and trailer combinion, stake and dump trucks. Keeps written records of all vehicle and facilities maintenance projects, documents maintenance actions, and logs projects into computer systems. The employee uses considerable physical effort is required in the operion and maintenance of facilities, equipment, and tachments. The employee frequently is required to perform heavy lifting and exerts considerable physical effort while using hand and power tools. Work requires extensive leg, arm, and hand movement, standing, stooping, walking, bending, climbing, and kneeling, and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. The employee frequently lifts, carries, and sets up parts and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted, and over 50 pounds with assistance. The employee uses jacks, pulleys, dollies, or other lifting and carrying devices. Work may be from ladders, scaffolding, plforms, or high places, and in hard-to-reach places. Frequent arm and leg movements are required to opere controls, make repairs, and build items.Working Conditions:
Work is accomplished both in an office setting (5%) and outdoors (95%). Works outside in all kinds of weher and frequently exposed to running wer, fumes, dust, grease, dirt, and moving parts of equipment and machinery. Work performed outside is in a variety of settings where steep terrain, extremely uneven, rocky and slippery footing is normal. Temperure extremes are common. Employee is regularly exposed to the possibility of cuts, scrapes, and bruises, falls, falling merial, or injury from equipment associed with power equipment or hazardous merials. Work demands conformance to safety requirements including the use of a variety of personal protective equipment such as: protective clothing, hardhs, hearing protection, safety glasses, goggles, gloves, steel toe heavy leher boots, respiror, and other personal protective items. Serious injury may result from getting caught in opering equipment, or from collisions with automobiles when opering on or near public roads. Work is generally done on stable fl terrain and construction sites, but may be also done on rolling hills, minor slopes, grades, rocky or soft ground, or forests.
