Job Description
Position Overview HHS Government Services, a federal government contractor, is seeking a skilled General Maintenance Worker to support facility operations at Vandenberg Space Force Base. This is a full-time, hands-on role responsible for performing general facility maintenance across a range of trades with an emphasis on electrical work. Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain government installation access. Key Responsibilities Perform general facility maintenance and repair work in accordance with contract standards and government facility requirements Troubleshoot and perform electrical repairs including reading schematics and using diagnostic tools such as an ohmmeter Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to identify and address facility issues before they escalate Complete work orders accurately and on time, documenting all time, materials, and supplies in the applicable CMMS Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in compliance with OSHA and installation safety protocols Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and installation personnel Handle all documentation and system access in accordance with federal contractor cybersecurity requirements Qualifications Previous experience in general facilities maintenance or a related trade required Background or hands-on experience in electrical work strongly preferred; ability to read schematics and use diagnostic tools required Familiarity with CMMS or work order management systems a plus Must pass a federal background check and obtain government installation access credentials (DBIDS or equivalent) Must pass pre-employment drug screening prior to hire Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a government facility environment Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and lift up to 50 lbs. throughout the shift Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces as required Pre-Employment Requirements This position requires successful completion of a federal background check and pre-employment drug screening. As a federal contractor operating on a U.S. military installation, HHS maintains a strict drug-free workplace.
