Full Job Description Position Overview:
The Maintenance Assistant supports the Maintenance Director in maintaining the community in good repair at all times, including both the interior and exterior surfaces, fixtures and mechanical systems. Maintain plumbing, electrical, heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems according to established procedures, manufacturer's instructions and county, state, and federal laws and regulations, as applicable. Respond promptly to emergency repair requests Check Maintenance Log. Routinely and promptly repair and document corrections Maintain all interior fixtures in good repair including walls, woodwork, handrails, nurse call systems, light fixtures, furniture, etc., in accordance with established procedures Assure the preventative maintenance schedule is met and properly recorded: Ensure the preventative maintenance schedule is followed and accurately documented. This includes regular inspection and servicing of mechanical patient lifts, kitchen grease traps, dryers and washers, refrigerators and freezers, dishwashers, ice machines, shower chairs, hair dryers, shower hoses, suction machines, generators, the call system, heating and cooling systems, and all community vehicles. Qualifications:
High School graduate or equivalent preferred 1 year experience in at least one of the following fields: General maintenance (institution or building), Carpentry or community construction, Plumbing and/or electrical, Appliance maintenance in a skilled nursing facility.
