"Priority consideration will be given to any person receiving State public assistance under the CalWORKs program. Applicants who receive State public assistance need to identify their status as a CalWORKs recipient in the comments area on the application. Applicants must submit a verification of their CalWORKs eligibility status, which may include the most recent Notice of Action showing TANF eligibility or a copy of your last aid check stub. The reporting location for this position will be at El Capitan State Beach. This position will work under the direction of the Park Maintenance Supervisor and the leadership of permanent maintenance staff. The Maintenance Aide shall perform various maintenance and housekeeping tasks, necessary to ensure that public health and safety standards are maintained. This position performs tasks of housekeeping, restocking restroom supplies, litter pickup, landscaping, trail work, and other manual labor tasks. This position requires operating gators, trucks, and small equipment to clean and maintain the park facilities and grounds. The Maintenance Aide may assist permanent park personnel with more technical and/or difficult tasks and work as part of a crew on labor intensive projects. The essential job functions of this position include maintenance services, visitor contact, and resource protection. The incumbent's work schedule will be from 6:30 am to 3:00 pm five days per week.

This is a uniformed position, and the successful candidates will be required to purchase and wear a State Parks uniform. This position can work 189 days in a 12 consecutive month period or a maximum of 1500 hours within 12 consecutive months per California Code of Regulation 265.1. This position is designated as not telework eligible. The selected candidate is required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting prior to appointment. Possession of a Class C valid driver's license and a safe driving record as documented by the Department of Motor Vehicles within 60 days prior to appointment. (A safe driving record is one free from convictions in the past two years for repeated moving violations or a single serious violation, such as drunk driving or reckless driving.) Physical Abilities:
 Ability to perform manual labor (e.g. digging, trenching, lifting, carrying, loading). Requires repetitive movement of heavy objects. Ability to walk across uneven terrain in both uphill and downhill conditions to perform the duties associated with the job. Stand for long periods of time (up to 2 hours) to perform the duties associated with the job
Cognitive Abilities:
 Read, write and speak in a clear and concise manner. Develop practical solutions to problems to make sound decisions. Perform basic mathematical computations associated with assigned duties. Make sound decisions given available information and situational parameters.
Special Personal Characteristics:
