This classification is subject to the Post and Bid process. Applications from a certification list, transfer change in class, reinstatement, re-employment, and training and development assignment candidates will be accepted for this position but consistent with the MOU/Bargaining Agreement BU12/13 contract cannot be acted upon unless the Post & Bid process does not result in a hire. The reporting location for this position is Wilder Ranch State Park in Santa Cruz, CA. This position will work under the supervision of Park Maintenance Supervisor. The Park Maintenance Assistant (PMA) will perform routine unskilled structural and facility maintenance and repair work throughout the Sector on a wide variety of park facilities, including buildings, systems, grounds, roads and trails. The PMA will properly complete vehicle logs, vehicle safety checklists and time sheets; keeps tools and equipment in good condition; keeps records and prepares reports as required. The incumbent may lead and train a crew of maintenance employees. May be required to assist with the entire facility maintenance program for the Pajaro Coast Sector and or the Santa Cruz District. Training and Development Assignments may be considered. Possession of a valid Class C driver's license is required. You must answer the questions addressing your driver's license on your application. The selected candidate is required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting prior to appointment. The incumbent's work schedule will be Thursday to Monday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM Per California Code of Regulations (CCR) 599.961, this is a sensitive position, and therefore subject to drug and alcohol testing. It should be noted that testing is not mandatory, but is allowed to be conducted only if and when there is a determination of reasonable suspicion as defined in
CCR 599.962.
