This role offers the opportunity to contribute directly to the maintenance and improvement of Denver's streets, alleys, and transportation network while serving the community through all seasons. As a Utility Worker II you will: Perform semi-skilled and light to heavy physical labor on a variety of construction, maintenance, and repair projects Operation of light weight motorized equipment and hand and power tools Assist with general labor, safety, and related work tasks on a crew with Equipment Operators Patch asphalt and paved areas Place and remove barricades, cones, and other traffic control and safety devices in and around work areas for construction and maintenance projects in accordance with traffic regulation requirements Participate in snow removal duties. What You'll Bring Our ideal candidate has some or all the following experience, skills, and characteristics: Knowledge of city of Denver streets/alleys and use of maps Have a valid Driver's License Willingness to work in inclement weather, road environments, dust, fumes, etc. Desire to follow a career path and promote to other positions within the department, such as Equipment Operator I, Equipment Operator II, etc. (We provide on the job training!)
