Job Description

City of Durango's Parks & Recreation Department is looking for a Seasonal Parks Maintenance Worker to help care for parks, open spaces, and the Greenmount Cemetery during peak season. This is a 6-month seasonal position that works full-time hours and supports essential daily maintenance tasks. From flower bed maintenance to operating specialized mowing and power equipment, you'll assist with mowing, trimming, irrigation, facility cleaning, and general upkeep to keep parks safe, clean, and welcoming. What You'll Do in
This Role:
Maintain park and cemetery grounds, including mowing, trimming, edging, leaf blowing, and general cleanup. Clean and maintain public facilities such as restrooms, shelters, and common areas. Assist with planting and maintaining flower beds and landscaped areas. Operate and maintain small power equipment such as mowers, line trimmers, leaf blowers, and hedgers. Support basic irrigation maintenance and repairs. Build, repair, and maintain park features such as benches, tables, fences, and signs. Assist full-time staff with special projects and seasonal tasks. Provide helpful, courteous service to community members and park visitors.
You Have:
One year of experience in parks, landscaping, or general maintenance work. A high school diploma or GED equivalent. A valid driver's license or the ability to obtain one. You Will Succeed in
