Description The Connecticut Department of Transportation is hiring CDL Drivers for our Darien Bridge and Darien Highway Maintenance locations! The Connecticut Department of Transportation (DOT), is now accepting applications for CDL Driver/Highway Maintenance Worker (Transportation Maintainer 2) positions in Darien.

Monday- Friday.
Location:
Darien. Full Time, 40 hours per week. First Shift, 7:30 AM- 4:00 PM.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- You must possess a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or B with tank (N or X) endorsement and no airbrakes restriction.
Note:
Candidates selected for Bridge positions must meet the following requirements, as required under the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Standard 1910.134:- Must be medically cleared for a respirator.
- Cannot have facial hair.
- Must meet equipment weight requirement.
- Night work required.
- Military members and recently honorably discharged veterans who possess at least two years' experience in operating a commercial motor vehicle as part of their military job requirements may qualify for these opportunities based on meeting the CDL Skills Test Exemption for Military Applicants (Military Skills Test Waiver Form) as outlined on the CT DMV website.

RequirementsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- GENERAL
EXPERIENCE
One (1) year of experience in the construction, landscaping, commercial driving, snow plowing, maintenance and repair of roadsides, roadways, bridges or airports, in work involving the operation and care of mechanical equipment or work in one of the recognized maintenance trades.- You must possess a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or B with tank (N or X) endorsement and no airbrakes restriction.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- SUBSTITUTIONS ALLOWED Graduation from a vocational or technical school with a diploma designating completion of the subject requirements in one of the maintenance trades may be substituted for the General Experience.
