Summary Essential Job Duties:
General housekeeping, Cleaning the center buildings as required Dusting, Sweeping, Mopping Maintaining restrooms, document on log sheet Stock restroom supplies Maintain cleaning supply inventory Floor maintenance as required mopping, stripping, waxing Windows, doors cleaning as required Cleaning up spills and bio waste with spill kits provided Custodians must keep a running cleaning log on their cleaning cart Restroom and cart logs must be maintain at all time, ready for review when requested. Custodians may be required to work over time when needed for any of the above listed. Custodians must maintain a well groom appearance, good hygiene and clean uniforms. Repairs and maintains machinery, including automotive equipment, pumps, and motors. Effects structural repairs and alterations. May be assigned to serve as the logistics and maintenance leader when the leader is off center. Repairs or replaces doors, windows, walls, flooring, and other wooden structures. Repairs or replaces plumbing, heating, and air conditioning equipment. Repairs or replaces electrical wiring, lights (incandescent and fluorescent), control switches, and other electrical items. Performs minor construction projects (e.g., shelves, storage bins, counters, workbenches). May perform roofing repairs or maintenance. 9. May direct the activities of the Maintenance Workers. May drive center vehicles. Performs preventive maintenance activities. Ensures cleanliness and sanitation of buildings and grounds, including floors, bathrooms, and trash pick-up. Models, mentors, and monitors the positive normative culture of the center. Acts as a responsible custodian for the assigned center property. Reports violations of ethical behavior. Suggests opportunities for continuous operational improvement and reduction of waste. Identifies and reports environmental health and safety concerns Other duties as assigned per the maintenance supervisor. Custodians report to the maintenance supervisor. Required Education & Experience High School Diploma or GED Five years of experience in plumbing, heating, air conditioning, carpentry, electricity, or general building and groups maintenance. Certifications/Competencies Ability to use hand and power tools. Ability to promote the Career Success Standards (CSS) by modeling appropriate behaviors, mentoring students when necessary, and monitoring both positive and negative behaviors through interventions. Strong organizational skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Computer proficiency.
