NO Under the general direction of the designated supervisor, the incumbent performs unskilled and semi-skilled manual work, is responsible for routine maintenance, landscape installation, map reading, the operation of a backhoe/excavator, and dump truck with air brakes. Work assignment may also include but not limited to painting, mowing, barricade placement and removal, tent installation and removal. This job has no supervisory responsibilities. Emergency Situation :
Essential Employees may be required to work during a declared emergency. Depending on the nature of the emergency, this may require working around the clock for several days on short notice. Non Essential Employees will not be required to work during a declared emergency. The employee's Department Head will determine when the employee will be required to work. Operates necessary small equipment, including hand tools, etc. Maintenance and inspection of equipment to ensure it is safe and in good repair at all times. May be required to operate a motor vehicle to accomplish assigned tasks. This position requires regular and reliable attendance and the employee's physical presence at the workplace Performs other duties as assigned. When assigned to the
Sewer :
Clears sewer stoppages. Assists with the installation of sewer lines and taps. Assists with the repair of existing sewer lines; sewer connections; taps; faulty sewer taps; and cave-ins. Locates sewer lines and connections. Repairs sinkholes on sewer lines. Raises and/or install new manholes.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to operate necessary equipment, including push mower, hand tools and other routine equipment. Ability to perform work in varying and adverse weather conditions. One year related experience; or education, experience, and/or training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Must possess a valid Florida Class "B" Commercial Driver's License with an acceptable driving record, or be able to obtain one within 12 months of hire. . Department of Transportation (D.O.T.) Mandatory Drug/Alcohol Testing required. When assigned to
Cemetery and Parks and Sewer Maintenance:
Requires a tanker endorsement or the ability to obtain within twelve (12) months of employment. Requires air brake or the ability to obtain within twelve (12) months of employment.
