General Maintenance Worker

In-House Maintenance Technician Location:

Gainesville and surrounding areas

Schedule:

30-40 hours per week + on-call availability Position Overview We are seeking a dependable Maintenance Technician to support a portfolio of long-term and short-term rental properties in Gainesville and surrounding areas. This position handles routine repairs, preventative maintenance, property setup tasks, and service requests for our residents and property managers. The ideal candidate has experience in property maintenance, construction, or residential repairs and is comfortable troubleshooting common maintenance issues independently. Candidates must have reliable transportation and their own basic tools. This position requires reporting to our office daily. Responsibilities Perform general maintenance and repairs including unclogging drains, minor plumbing, painting, furniture repairs, and other routine tasks. Complete resident work orders efficiently while maintaining company repair standards. Conduct preventative maintenance such as changing HVAC filters, cleaning gutters, and inspecting property conditions. Assist with setting up new rental properties including building furniture, hanging curtains, and installing smart locks or cameras. Help diagnose appliance issues and coordinate repairs when needed. Assist property managers with obtaining quotes for larger repairs or projects. Maintain clean and organized work areas and clean up thoroughly after repairs. Report to scheduled job sites on time and work independently across multiple properties. Maintain a professional appearance and provide courteous service to guests, tenants and vendors. Be available for on-call maintenance needs when urgent issues arise. Requirements Experience in general maintenance, construction, or property management maintenance Knowledge of carpentry, drywall repair, minor electrical, and minor plumbing Ability to troubleshoot maintenance issues independently Reliable transportation and personal tools required Ability to lift 50+ pounds when needed Preferred Qualifications Appliance repair experience Experience with short-term rental properties Familiarity with installing smart home devices (locks, cameras, thermostats) Basic HVAC knowledge Compensation Compensation based on experience.
