Saturday Weekly Hours:
30-35 Position Overview The Historic Hampton House is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Maintenance Person to maintain the appearance, cleanliness, and functionality of our historic museum and event space. This is a light-maintenance position suited for someone who takes pride in their work, notices small details, and is comfortable completing a variety of basic upkeep and event-support tasks. Because our property is historically significant, all work must be completed carefully and respectfully. Responsibilities Perform light maintenance and basic handyman-type tasks throughout the property Touch up small areas of paint and address minor marks or scrapes on walls Hang signs, artwork, decorations, and other lightweight items as directed Assist with setting up and breaking down tables, chairs, and materials for events Pick up light trash and debris from outdoor areas Help keep storage, maintenance, and event-supply areas organized Report maintenance concerns or property damage to management Assist with minor repairs and general property upkeep Complete routine walkthroughs to identify areas needing attention Support staff with other reasonable maintenance-related needs Qualifications Dependable, punctual, and able to follow directions Strong attention to detail Comfortable performing light physical and maintenance work Basic knowledge of common tools and minor repairs Able to work carefully around historic spaces and museum property Able to lift and move approximately 30-40 pounds when assisting with event setup Able to stand, walk, bend, and reach during scheduled shifts Previous maintenance, facilities, event-setup, or handyman experience is preferred but not required Must be available Tuesday through Saturday What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is proactive, respectful, organized, and willing to help wherever light maintenance support is needed. This position does not involve major construction, electrical, plumbing, or highly specialized repair work.
