Job Description
Ormond Beach Presbyterian Church (PCUSA) is a neighborhood beachside church on the East Coast of Florida. We are a multi-generational congregation, with an seasoned, larger campus, and a variety of activities! Our long-time Custodian has retired and we need a new person to maintain the physical property of the church - the exterior and interior of buildings, facilities, equipment, utilities, and grounds - and to provide for their cleanliness and neatness. This includes custodial duties, event setup and breakdown, and light maintenance tasks. The ideal candidate is reliable, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently while supporting church staff and volunteers. : Prior custodial, facilities, or maintenance experience preferred Strong reliability and attention to detail Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Physical ability to lift up to 40lbs and perform routine manual tasks that may require climbing a ladder Basic knowledge of cleaning and maintenance practices Professional and respectful demeanor in a church environment Ability to assist where needed to support ministry activities Clean and maintain church facilities including sanctuary, classrooms, offices, kitchen, and restrooms Prepare spaces for worship services, meetings, weddings, funerals, and special events Open and secure buildings according to scheduled activities Perform light maintenance and minor repairs as needed Assist with setup and takedown of furniture, chairs, and equipment Monitor facility conditions and report maintenance needs Maintain cleaning supplies and basic inventory Support groundskeeping and exterior appearance of church property including window washing, painting, clean walkways, remove spider webs and insect nests, etc. Coordinate with vendors and contractors when necessary Attend scheduled staff meetings and monthly Property Committee meetings Maintain storage areas, janitorial space, and garage in clean, orderly condition Must pass a drug and background check
