Industrial Parks Crew Worker Industrial Park & Airport
JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for participating in the maintenance of park grounds.
MAJOR DUTIES 1.
Supervises assigned inmates in the maintenance of Industrial Park grounds; transports inmates to and from park. 2. Mows grass and cuts weeds. 3. Trims shrubs and tree limbs. 4. Collects trash and litter. 5. Installs and repairs landscaping. 6. Applies pesticides and herbicides as needed. 7. Performs basic maintenance on department vehicles and equipment; coordinates outside repairs as needed. 8. Digs trenches for underground water line repairs; fills and levels ground after repairs. 9. Cleans out warehouses. 10. Assists with wastewater treatment plant maintenance and repairs as needed. 11. Performs other assigned duties.
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED BY THE POSITION 1.
Knowledge of county and departmental policies and procedures. 2. Knowledge of grounds maintenance principles. 3. Knowledge of vehicle and equipment repair and maintenance principles. 4. Skill in planning and organizing work. 5. Skill in the operation and maintenance of grounds maintenance tools and equipment. 6. Skill in the use of hand and power tools. 7. Skill in the supervision of inmate laborers.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent required. More than one year of related experience required. Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated. Possession of or ability to readily obtain an appropriate state-certified license for water or wastewater treatment or distribution as appropriate.
