Job Description
This position is responsible for participating in the maintenance of the City's stormwater system. Troubleshoot basic maintenance problems involving the City's stormwater system. Performs concrete and asphalt repair of stormwater-related structures. Operates jackhammers, concrete saws, drills, and other small construction-related hand tools. Operates line trimmers, mowers, chainsaws, blowers, and other small engine-powered equipment to mow grass, remove trees and overgrowth, and gather debris. Uses shovels, rakes, pitchforks, and other hand tools to maintain ditches and canals and related drainage structures. Cleans and assists in the operation and maintenance of stormwater pumping stations. Maintains the storm drainage system. Participates in maintenance and repair work. Cleans and maintains facilities, including mowing grass and removing litter Serves in the Critical Workforce for the Department, requiring service during disasters, weather events such as tropical storms or hurricanes, etc., in a support role at the Critical Workforce Shelter or other assigned locations. Performs other related duties as assigned. Requires a high school diploma or GED equivalent; six (6) months of related maintenance experience necessary. Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving history.
