Maui FEMA Summary:

Perform a variety of electrical trade functions such as installation, maintenance, or repair of equipment for the generation, distribution, or utilization of electric energy. Able to decipher and repair electrical problems that arise due to faulty generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems or other transmission equipment. Must be able to work from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications, locating and diagnosing trouble in the electrical systems or electrical equipment. Must be able to perform standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment. Must be proficient in the use of electrician hand tools and measuring and testing equipment. Electrical safety is of paramount importance. Must completely understand the Lock-out-Tag-out program; understand completely the use of required safety equipment and apparatus while working on overhead electrical transmission lines.

Qualifications:

At least 4 years' experience as an electrician acquired through training. Must have the ability to pass a background check. Must possess a valid driver's license. Ability to use good judgement and common sense when performing job functions. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Must be punctual and patient under stressful working environments. Lifting of weight up to 70 pounds is required.

Education Required:

High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent work experience.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Respond to service calls within the allowable timeframe
• Participation in Quality Control and Safety Program
• Must adhere to the Lockout / Tagout Program
• Perform daily checks on company provided vehicle
• Accomplished work in compliance with government regulations and all building codes
• Assists in identifying material requirements for work in government acceptable format
• Operates general purpose vehicles
• Able to decipher and repair electrical problems
• Working from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications to locate and diagnose trouble in electrical system or equipment
• Under supervision, operate shop equipment, machinery, and power tools related to job tasks
• Accomplishes work utilizing safe work practices, procedures, and adherence to OSHA
• Calibrates timers, thermostats, and adjusts contact points
• Replaces worn or defective parts such as switches, pumps, bearings, transmissions, belts, gears, blowers, and defective wiring
• Replaces electrical receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures, and motors Special Knowledge /

Skills Required:

• 10 hour OSHA certificate
• Must possess valid State Driver's License.
