Maintenance Laborer St. Ambrose University is seeking a dependable and hardworking Maintenance Laborer to join our Facilities team. This position plays an important role in maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming campus for students, faculty, staff, and visitors. As a member of the Facilities team, you will assist with general maintenance, event support, and seasonal campus projects while working both independently and collaboratively with skilled trades staff. Key Responsibilities Assist maintenance technicians and skilled trades personnel with building maintenance and repair projects. Move office equipment, supplies, and materials across campus. Participate in snow and ice removal efforts during winter weather events. Deliver materials, tools, and supplies to campus locations. Assist with setup and teardown of university events, meetings, and special functions. Operate hand tools, power equipment, and university vehicles safely and effectively. Help maintain a safe, clean, and attractive campus environment. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Experience with maintenance, construction, or related work is helpful but not required. Physical Requirements Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly. Ability to perform physical labor including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, and climbing. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions throughout the year.
