Job Description

The Wittern Group is seeking a Maintenance Helper to join our team. This is an entry-level learned position that provides on-the-job training to our employees. This role is perfect for those with interest in skilled-trade careers or individuals looking to start their career in Building Maintenance or relating fields. As our Maintenance Helper you will learn how to preform the following duties under supervision of the
Maintenance Manager:
Obtain supplies, position work and follow verbal or written instructions Attends to minor machine repair, change lights, fill LP tanks, lubricate equipment, make equipment inspection and various building maintenance tasks Complete tasks as directed with minimum supervision Ensure work is done safely and meets quality standards Provide a great level of attention to detail and focus on the given task Reports problems with quality, processes, equipment and materials to supervisor Perform other duties as directed that correspond to the overall function of this position Keep work areas clean and organized and take proper care of all equipment and facilities Desire to learn and work to the best of his/her abilities as well as dependable work ethic Follow all company rules and policies
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Adequate communication skills; verbal and written Ability to read and understand written instructions Ability to operate tow motor and pass tow motor operator's test High mechanical aptitude, including basic knowledge or ability to learn: electricity, electronics, welding, hydraulics and other mechanical repairs
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Physically able to do bending, twisting, gripping, grasping, pulling, pushing and lifting Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. Physically able to stand for up to 8 hours Requires good hand-eye coordination Physically able to work in extreme temperatures (hot & cold) when required Ability to climb ladders and work in high places
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience/combined education Learn to perform minor repairs and maintenance to the building, equipment and machines. Also required to perform other tasks, as assigned by his or her supervisor. Individuals will train with their supervisor on 1st shift before transitioning to 2nd shift.
