• Applications without a valid driver's license will not be considered. We are looking for a dependable and hardworking Truck Shop Helper to assist in daily operations at our truck repair shop. In this role, you will support mechanics and technicians with various tasks, including cleaning, organizing, and preparing tools and parts for repair work. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, capable of working in a fast-paced environment, and committed to maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient workspace.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist mechanics with general repair and maintenance tasks, including moving parts and tools. Clean and organize the shop, ensuring tools and equipment are maintained and readily available. Prepare parts and materials for repairs and maintenance work. Dispose of waste and hazardous materials in accordance with safety guidelines. Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to shop safety protocols. Help load and unload parts and equipment as needed. Assist with inventory management, ensuring parts are stocked and ready for use. Support mechanics during vehicle inspections and minor repairs. Perform routine shop maintenance tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and keeping areas organized.
Required Qualifications:
Basic knowledge of truck and automotive systems is a plus, but not required. Ability to follow instructions and work under the supervision of experienced mechanics. Strong physical stamina and ability to lift heavy items (up to 50 lbs). Excellent organizational and time management skills. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment. Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities. Must pass a pre-employment background verification, physical and drug screening The Federal Rail Administration sets and enforces safety regulations and standards for railroad operations. If applicable for the position you are applying to, and if you are offered the position, you will have to take and pass a drug screen. Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in an automotive or truck repair shop is a plus but not required. High school diploma or equivalent. Must be at least 18 years old
