Job Description
Chanute Housing Authority is seeking a dependable, self-motivated Maintenance Specialist to help maintain our public housing properties. This is a full-time position offering stable employment, excellent benefits, and the opportunity to make a positive impact in our community. Responsibilities Complete maintenance work orders in occupied and vacant units. Prepare apartments for new residents, including repairs and painting. Perform general maintenance including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, appliances, and flooring. Assist with preventative maintenance, grounds maintenance, and emergency repairs. Maintain a safe work environment and provide professional customer service to residents. Qualifications Experience in residential or commercial maintenance preferred. Experience or knowledge in electrical, HVAC, carpentry, drywall, plumbing, or general building maintenance is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate. Ability to safely use hand and power tools. Valid driver's license. Ability to lift 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally and work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions. Must pass a background check and pre-employment drug screening.
