Supervisor of Building Maintenance Job Summary:

Primary duties include routine manual work related to the daily maintenance of city properties and buildings. May perform other manual work including building cleaning and the use of hand tools, power tools, or small equipment for cleanup, painting, maintenance, and/or repair projects of the Department of Public Works.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

? None.

Duties/Responsibilities:

? Performs a variety of work in connection with alteration maintenance and repair of buildings. ? Performs miscellaneous carpentry, construction, and repair work; installs hardware; glazes windows. ? Performs other incidental skills such as painting and masonry. ? Performs related duties assigned. ? Makes limited contacts beyond immediate associates. •Errors could result in waste of materials and higher unit labor costs•

Required Skills/Abilities:

? Ability to follow written or oral instructions and to operate and care for tools. ? Considerable knowledge of the materials, methods and techniques of the building trades. ? Semi-skilled to skilled work in the maintenance and repair of public buildings.

Job Environment:

Frequent physical effort demanded in lifting materials and in performing maintenance and repair duties under conditions at the time subject to heat, dirt or other disagreeable factors. Education, Certification, Licensure and Experience:

? High school diploma or equivalent. ? Qualifying experience in carpentry and building maintenance; or any equivalent combination of education and experience. ? Must possess a Valid Massachusetts Driver?s License. Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) status: Non-Exempt (hourly) Employment status &

Hours:

Regular Full-time employment, 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 7:00a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Salary/Pay rate:

\$24.46 (minimum) up to \$26.51 (maximum) per hour (Grade PW-13; UFCW)
