Job Description

About the Role We are seeking a dependable Maintenance Helper to support mechanical repair, equipment maintenance, fabrication, and field service work. This position is a great fit for someone with hands-on maintenance experience who wants to continue building their skills in an industrial, machine shop, fabrication, construction, or heavy equipment environment. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of hands-on maintenance experience, preferably in an industrial, manufacturing, mechanical, construction, marine, heavy equipment, or fabrication setting. This role will involve both shop-based maintenance and field maintenance work, assisting experienced mechanics, machinists, fabricators, and technicians with repairs, installations, tear-downs, rebuilds, and general equipment service. This is a hands-on position for someone who is mechanically inclined, comfortable using tools, and willing to work in both controlled shop environments and active field/job-site settings. Responsibilities Assist with maintenance, repair, and rebuilding of mechanical equipment and components Support shop and field crews with equipment tear-downs, inspections, repairs, and reassembly Travel to local field sites or job sites to assist with mechanical maintenance and repair work Help with installation, removal, adjustment, and alignment of mechanical components Use hand tools, power tools, grinders, drills, saws, and basic shop equipment Help move, stage, clean, prepare, and organize parts, tools, and materials Perform basic mechanical assembly, fitting, and adjustment work Assist with troubleshooting mechanical issues under the direction of senior team members Help with preventive maintenance tasks and general repair work Clean, inspect, and prepare components for repair, installation, or fabrication Assist with shop maintenance, field maintenance, and project-based repair work as needed Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas in the shop and on job sites Follow all company safety procedures and job-site requirements Qualifications 2+ years of hands-on maintenance experience preferred Industrial, manufacturing, heavy equipment, machine shop, fabrication, construction, marine, millwright, or mechanical repair background preferred Comfortable working in both shop and field/job-site environments Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn Experience using hand tools and power tools Ability to read a tape measure and take accurate measurements Comfortable working with metal parts, mechanical components, tools, and equipment Able to follow instructions and work as part of a team Able to lift, bend, stand, climb, kneel, and work in a physically active environment Comfortable working outdoors or in varying job-site conditions when needed Reliable, safety-conscious, and detail-oriented Valid driver's license preferred Welding, fabrication, machining, rigging, bridge work, or millwright experience is a plus, but not required Helpful Experience Candidates may be a good fit if they have experience as a: Maintenance Helper, Maintenance Technician, Industrial Maintenance Helper, Mechanic Helper, Field Maintenance Helper, Millwright Helper, Shop Technician, Equipment Repair Helper, Field Service Helper, Heavy Equipment Helper, Mechanical Assembler, Fabrication Helper, General Maintenance Worker, Construction Laborer, or Industrial Laborer. Pay:
$24.00 - $28.00 per hour
