Job Description
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Maintenance Worker to support the upkeep of short-term rental properties (Airbnb homes and condos) in Ocean City, MD. This role ensures that properties are safe, clean, fully functional, and guest-ready between stays. The ideal candidate is hands-on, responsive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced hospitality environment with varying daily tasks. Key Responsibilities Perform routine maintenance and repairs in rental properties (plumbing, electrical, HVAC basics, appliances, fixtures, etc.) Conduct quick response repairs during guest stays when urgent issues arise Inspect properties before and after guest check-ins to ensure quality standards are met Replace or repair items such as light bulbs, locks, furniture, and appliances Troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues in a timely manner Coordinate with cleaning staff to ensure properties are fully reset between stays Perform seasonal maintenance tasks (e.g., AC preparation, winterization, outdoor upkeep) Maintain inventory of maintenance tools, supplies, and replacement parts Communicate updates and issues with property manager or owner Ensure all work complies with safety standards and local regulations Qualifications Previous experience in general maintenance, handyman work, or property management preferred Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, and general home repair Ability to work independently and manage time effectively Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labor in various conditions Availability for occasional evenings, weekends, and emergency calls Preferred Skills (Not Required) Experience with short-term rental or hospitality properties Familiarity with smart locks, Wi-Fi devices, and property tech systems HVAC or certified trades experience Basic carpentry or painting skills Work Environment This is a field-based role across multiple vacation rental properties in Ocean City, MD. Work conditions vary depending on property needs and seasonality, especially during peak tourist months.
