This position requires the ability to trouble shoot and repair basic appliances, generators, lawn care equipment, as well as minor electrictrical, plumbing and basic carpentry. Keeping the work area and tools neat and organized is an important part of the position. Knowledge of the use and care of hand, power and other tools used in the work. Ability to perform physically demanding work. Ability to use the tools and equipment of work efficiently. Ability to follow oral and written instructions.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The work is generally active, with the occasional repair performed in building or field settings outside. Typically requires the ability to walk or stand for a few hours at a time, lift and carry up to 50 pounds; climb stairs, ladders, and scaffolding to repair various items. A sample workday might have to organize items in storage, then repair or replace a dryer, fix a leaky sink, then tomorrow order supplies used to maintain facility, fix yet another sink and then clean and do maintenance on an air conditioning unit.
