Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing skilled and semi-skilled work required to install, maintain, repair, replace and modify operating systems, features, fixtures and furnishings for Kent County Sheriff's Department and Correctional Facility. These facilities utilize modern, technically complex HVAC equipment/systems and security components. These components consist of cameras, recorders and card access door systems. Position responsibilities may also include occasional lead worker assignments, custodial services, snow removal, and working at various facilities throughout Kent County. This work requires the use of journeymen's tools and the ability to perform operations in several recognized craft fields. Tools are provided. Work assignments are normally performed in accordance with established maintenance schedules and the County's work order system, but troubleshooting will be required to maintain facility operations and security. •This position is referral bonus eligible. High school graduate or equivalent combined with post secondary technical or apprenticeship training and/or a minimum of two years experience in maintenance repair. Must have basic knowledge of electrical, electronic, mechanical, and pneumatic principles.
Desired qualifications:
Completion of a recognized apprenticeship or certificate program, possession of an Associate's degree in electrical, electronic, mechanical or maintenance technology, completion of an Armed Forces electrical or electronics training program.
