Job Description

GENERAL SUMMARY
The purpose of this job is to perform daily maintenance of facility operations, including buildings, grounds, and equipment, heating and cooling, landscaping, light fixture replacements, plumbing, garbage disposal, and snow removal. Provides customer assistance to the public and communicates with staff regarding building-related issues. Assists in planning and project development with outside contractors. Ensures safety measures, conducts inspections, and performs preventative maintenance. This is a 24-hour, 365-day emergency response position, overseeing buildings with operation hours longer than the business week.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintains County buildings and grounds; identifies and addresses concerns with structures, systems, and equipment. 24-hour, 365 days per year response position. Completes facility maintenance work requests and repairs. Maintains heating and cooling systems, lighting fixtures, plumbing, and office waste. Performs lawn care, including mowing, gardening, weeding, and picking up trash. Assembles, moves, and disassembles furniture and other items. Removes snow and salts sidewalks. Conducts building checks, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other facilities systems. Provides customer service to County employees and citizens. Complete annual training for Asbestos Awareness, PPE, bloodborne pathogens, heavy equipment, and chemical applications. Performs related work as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Required Education and Experience High school diploma (or GED equivalent) 3 to 5 years of related work experience, such as a residential or commercial custodian or landscaper Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities
