Job Description
Overview Join our Public Works Department as a DPW Maintenance Worker and become a vital part of maintaining and enhancing our community's infrastructure and outdoor spaces. In this energetic role, you will perform a wide range of maintenance, landscaping, and construction tasks to ensure public facilities, parks, and streets are safe, functional, and visually appealing. Your hands-on skills and proactive approach will help keep our environment clean, safe, and inviting for residents and visitors alike. Responsibilities Operate a variety of hand tools, power tools, and heavy machinery such as excavators to perform landscaping, construction, and maintenance tasks. Conduct lawn care activities including mowing, trimming, edging, and fertilizing to maintain lush, healthy green spaces. Maintain public infrastructure by performing snow plowing during winter months and ensuring pathways are clear and safe. Support hardscape projects involving the installation or repair of walkways, retaining walls, or other outdoor structures using appropriate tools and techniques. Knowledge of mechanical systems and equipment operation such as lawn mowers, snow plows, excavators, and power tools is highly desirable. Ability to perform physical tasks outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining safety standards. Strong understanding of safety procedures related to construction sites and equipment operation is essential.
