FULL-TIME GROUNDSKEEPER/MAINTENANCE WORKER

Shattuck-St. Mary's School, an independent college-prep boarding school located in Faribault, Minnesota is seeking a Groundskeeper to work within Facilities and Grounds Department. Position Summary This position is responsible for vehicle and equipment maintenance, wood cutting, lawn maintenance, raking leaves, weeding, spraying, cleaning gutters, removing snow, maintaining an inventory of tools and common hardware, and other duties as assigned. Starting pay is $24.60. This position is represented by the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 70 and subject to the terms of the collective bargaining agreement.

Qualified candidates will have:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) One to three years related experience and/or training Ability to follow written and verbal instructions Ability to work independently Ability to use a computerized maintenance management system for work orders A valid MN Class D Driver's License, in good standing Be authorized to work in the

United States Working Conditions:

Frequent walking, standing, climbing, heavy lifting and carrying, stooping, bending, kneeling, and reaching. Ability to operate hand and power tools. Work outside on slippery or uneven walking surfaces, ladders, and scaffolding. Exposure to hot and cold temperatures, excessive noises, fumes, and toxic chemicals. Other duties could include working in other areas of the facilities and grounds department to provide support during absences or shortage of staff in other trades or to perform duties associated with light construction projects and school events. Requires flexibility and understanding that all maintenance staff may be required to perform duties outside their normal area of expertise to meet the needs of the school.
