The Buildings and Major Systems Staff are an essential part of Trout Lake Camps' ministry. At Trout our core beliefs dictate how we serve and minister to others be it campers, parents, volunteers, interns, summer and year-round staff. This is a full-time ministry position, in which our heart, commitment, and attitude of reflecting Jesus should be evident to everyone as we communicate the essence of the Gospel. This person will help in the building and maintenance of all Trout Lake Camps facilities using a hands-on approach and may supervise other Trout staff as they are assigned to this area. Safe, Fun, Gospel is the foundation of the Trout experience. All Building and Major Systems Staff are directly accountable to the Buildings and Major Systems Director. While accountable to the Buildings and Major Systems Director, there are times when the Executive Director or the Finance and Special Projects Director may provide direction. To be successful, this position must coordinate their efforts with all other departments. Duties include, but are not limited to: Year Round Assisting in the operation, upkeep, and repair of the following TLC facilities:

• Electrical systems
• Mechanical equipment
• Facilities (new construction and/or renovation of buildings and equipment)
• Trails and walkways
• Roads and parking areas (including snow removal)
• Code compliance.

Assisting in the management of major systems necessary to the operation of camp facilities. Maintaining shop and equipment storage areas. Assisting volunteers and youth groups as needed, this may include coordinating work projects. Helping to coordinate Serve Team work projects. Working in cooperation with the Site Directors by providing labor and equipment necessary to carry out the program builds and recreational needs for Trout Lake Camps. Working on-call and weekends as needed.

Summer Assisting the Facilities Director as the "go to" person for summer facility maintenance as needed. Helping supervise Dteam Work Crew staff as assigned. Driving weekend Dteam Bus runs as needed

Qualifications and Requirements The Buildings and Major Systems Staff member shall be someone who has proven knowledge in the following areas: Carpentry Plumbing Electrical, Heating & Refrigeration systems Mechanical & Grounds maintenance Knowledge of operation of construction equipment Class B

The employee will not act in a way that contradicts, undermines, or opposes our core ministry principles (see Mission, Culture, and Belief Statements). As a member of Trout's ministry staff, you may be assigned to a different role than the one you were hired for. At all times, no matter what you are given to do, Cabin Buddy, Skills Class Instructor, lead a group of Dteamers or a group of campers, etc., you are expected to act in accordance with Trout's ministry principles. The employee will represent Converge North Central and Trout Lake Camps in a positive light in all conversations, both on and off the job, to guests, volunteers, and fellow employees. Caring relationships support all of our work. When work is not available in this area, the employee may be asked to assist in other areas as needed. A background check and completion of the MinistrySafe program are required and must be successfully completed prior to employment. The position will average from 40 to 48 hours per week on an annual basis. This means that some weeks in the summer may require 48+ hours per week be worked. Other weeks during the off-season may require fewer hours per week. Because of the nature of this position flexibility is required in the hours that can be worked.
