Technician Trainee Location:
Fridley, MN Pay:
$20.00 - $23.00 per hour (depending on experience)
Schedule:
Full-Time, 2nd Shift (2:00 PM - 10:30 PM) Position Overview We are seeking a motivated Industrial/Mechanical Maintenance Technician Trainee to join our maintenance team on the evening shift. This is a hands-on, jack-of-all-trades position supporting the repair, maintenance, installation, and improvement of industrial equipment and facility systems. The successful candidate will work with a variety of equipment, including pumps, electrical machinery, hydraulics, air and water systems, cranes, and other mechanical components used in a manufacturing environment. Responsibilities Take direction from the Maintenance Manager and perform repair and maintenance work on equipment using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and plumbing tools. Assist with new projects, including installing water lines, welding, and light fabrication work. Support the installation of new equipment and upgrades to existing machinery. Perform inspections and preventative maintenance on equipment. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical issues. Complete building maintenance and repairs as needed. Follow all company safety policies and procedures. Qualifications Education & Experience High school diploma or equivalent required. Postsecondary education in Industrial Maintenance or a related field preferred, but not required. Previous maintenance, fabrication, mechanical, or industrial experience is a plus. Required Skills Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of basic engineering principles. General math skills. Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English. Resourceful problem-solving skills and ability to complete repair tasks independently. Understanding of workplace safety rules and regulations. Knowledge of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and electrical safety procedures. Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical equipment. Ability to weld and safely use cutting torches. Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs. #NowHiring
