Maintenance Assistant

Overview We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Assistant to support the upkeep and operational efficiency of our care center. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical, electrical, and facilities maintenance skills, with a proactive approach to troubleshooting and repairs. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to a safe and welcoming environment for residents and staff alike. Responsibilities Perform routine maintenance tasks across the facility, including plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems. Assist with repairs involving programmable logic controllers (PLCs), schematics, and electrical components to ensure continuous operation. Conduct welding and residential painting as needed to maintain the building's structural integrity and aesthetic appeal. Use tools such as ohmmeters and other diagnostic equipment to identify issues accurately. Support the implementation of facilities maintenance programs using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS). Supervise or assist with small projects, ensuring safety standards are met during all maintenance activities. Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot complex mechanical or electrical problems promptly. Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections for compliance purposes. On Call every other week Qualifications Proven experience in facilities maintenance within a healthcare, manufacturing, or residential setting. Strong mechanical knowledge complemented by electrical experience and familiarity with schematics. Residential painting, and general repair work. Experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) is highly desirable. Proficiency with diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and understanding of electrical systems. Excellent communication skills in English for effective teamwork and reporting. Supervising or leadership experience in maintenance roles is preferred but not mandatory. Knowledge of CMMS software for scheduling and tracking maintenance tasks. Pay:

$15.00 - $18.00 per hour
