Job Description

This position will report to Graham Cave State Park, 217 State Hwy TT, Danville, MO but primary work duties will include assisting with maintenance on the Mid-East Section of the Katy Trail State Park, which goes from Matson to Mokane, and includes the Treloar Mercantile (building and grounds). This is a temporary, seasonal position. The work hours are flexible and negotiable, but not to exceed 1,000 hours total during the length of the employment.
Duration of Assignment :
(Flexible time frame) April through October Responsibilities - What you'll do You will be assisting the State Park staff with maintenance, cleaning, park beautification, and you will get to actively learn about the park's operations, and cultural and natural resources stewardship activities. Provide excellent customer service when interacting with members of the public. Perform routine grounds and building maintenance. Mow and trim grass, remove debris, and empty trash containers. Assist in the construction and maintenance of trails, bridges, and fences; remove ground and overhead walking hazards. Cleaning public shower houses, restrooms, and keeping the park litter free. Replace signs and update bulletin boards with new materials. Perform equipment maintenance. This may include such tasks as washing equipment, checking batteries, changing oil, rotating and checking tires, tightening loose parts, sharpening blades, and loading string in trimmers.
