Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Building Maintenance Engineer to join our dynamic facilities team. In this role, you will support the maintenance, repair, and operation of building systems and equipment to ensure a safe, efficient, and comfortable environment. Your expertise in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems will be vital in maintaining the integrity of our facilities. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in a fast-paced setting while contributing to the smooth running of our building operations. Responsibilities Assist in the maintenance, inspection, and repair of electrical systems, including electrical equipment and electrical work using schematics and ohmmeters. Support HVAC system repairs and routine servicing to ensure optimal climate control throughout the facility. Perform plumbing maintenance and repairs on plumbing systems, including leak detection, pipe repairs, and fixture servicing. Conduct building interior maintenance tasks such as carpentry, painting (including residential painting), and general facilities upkeep. Use hand tools and power tools for various repair tasks while adhering to safety standards. Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and mechanical drawings to troubleshoot issues effectively. Support maintenance painting projects and assist with facilities equipment maintenance to uphold building aesthetics and functionality. Collaborate with team members to execute planned maintenance schedules and respond promptly to urgent repair needs. Provide excellent customer service by addressing facility-related concerns from occupants or tenants professionally and efficiently. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, repairs, and parts inventory related to Maintenance, Repair & Operations (MRO). Qualifications Proven experience with mechanical knowledge including plumbing, carpentry, electrical work, HVAC system repair, and facilities maintenance. Hands-on experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), schematics, electrical equipment repair, welding skills, and use of hand tools. Familiarity with plumbing system maintenance and repair as well as HVAC systems is essential. Ability to read technical diagrams and schematics; experience with ohmmeters is preferred. Strong communication skills in English for effective teamwork and customer service interactions. Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Experience with maintenance painting (including residential painting) is a plus. Knowledge of Maintenance, Repair & Operations (MRO) practices for efficient facility management.
