Job Description
To perform basic repair and maintenance of buildings and fixed and moveable equipment and fixtures. Perform some semi-skilled mechanical trades work relating to the installation, operations, maintenance and repair of electrical, HVAC, and plumbing/pipefitting. Perform basic repair and maintenance of buildings including fixed and moveable equipment and fixtures. Perform semi-skilled mechanical trades work relating to the installation, operation, maintenance and repair of electrical, refrigeration, air conditioning, heating, ventilating, and plumbing systems fixed and moveable equipment, fixtures and units. Perform semi-skilled building trades work in carpentry, painting, glazing, mason/tuck pointing, plastering, etc. Assist various journey-level staff in the completion of diverse tasks. Notify supervisor when repairs and installation tasks that may require advanced are identified. Assist with cost estimates, material orders, reports and maintenance records. Perform other duties as assigned. Shift Monday-Thursday, 7:00am-5:30pm Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired is necessary. Two years of general maintenance experience is required. (Some or all of the two years of experience may be required to be in a specific skill area of concentration; i.e., carpentry, plumbing, heating/air conditioning, etc.) Skill in the maintenance and operation of tools, equipment and materials. Sufficient strength to perform heavy lifting and work on ladders on an occasional basis. A valid driver's license may be required for certain positions. Depending on the nature of work performed, the incumbent may be required to wear a respirator or self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) as outlined in the "Industrial Standard for Respirator Use". Anticipated Hiring Range The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $17.00-$20.09 hourly. Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
