In this role, you'll perform a variety of custodial, maintenance, and facility support duties to ensure City facilities remain clean, functional, and prepared for daily operations and special events. From maintaining floors and meeting rooms to assisting with minor plumbing repairs and inventory management, you'll play an important role in keeping our facilities operating at their best. What You'll Do Clean, maintain, and care for City buildings and surrounding grounds. Set up and tear down meeting rooms, furniture, and equipment for events and meetings. Respond to janitorial service requests in a timely and professional manner. Maintain carpets, tile, terrazzo floors, and interior windows. Collect and properly dispose of trash, recycling, and other waste materials. Receive, organize, and inventory custodial, food service, and building supplies. Track inventory of paper products, light bulbs, cleaning supplies, and other facility materials. Assist with minor plumbing repairs, including replacing faucets, unclogging drains and toilets, replacing flush valves, and changing batteries in plumbing fixtures. Operate and maintain custodial equipment and report maintenance concerns. Maintain City facility flags. Follow all safety procedures and contribute to a clean, safe work environment. Provide backup support to the Facility Attendant as needed. Perform other related duties to support department operations. Work Schedule This position will require working weekdays, weekends, and holidays. 11 a.m. - 7:30 p.m. Weekends can vary depending on setup and teardown needs. Click here to view the Full Job Description Job Qualifications - Education, experience, and training that are required or desirable in order to effectively perform the job at the time of hire. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered. Additional requirements and/or substitutions may be requested and require the approval of HR. Prior relevant experience is required. Valid driver's license is required. CPR and First Aid certifications preferred, or ability to obtain within 180 days of employment required. Lift Truck Certification is required within 180 days of employment. Working knowledge of building cleaning technology and general building safety. Attention to detail and the ability to maintain concentrated focus. Ability to operate cleaning equipment properly. Ability to provide exceptional service to internal and external customers. Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with supervisors, co-workers, and customers by telephone, in writing, and in person. Ability to use good judgment and think rationally in difficult or stressful situations. Ability to develop goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work, as well as concentrate on multiple tasks simultaneously. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Ability to effectively organize and prioritize routine and robust tasks to meet deadlines. Ability to work independently under moderate supervision and make responsible decisions. Ability to work under established processes and solve problems within defined parameters. Basic knowledge in the use of general computer programs and applications, including email and mobile apps. Regular attendance is a necessary and essential job duty. The job requires being reliable, responsible and dependable.
