Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Maintenance Worker to join our team and ensure the optimal upkeep of outdoor grounds and facilities. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining landscape aesthetics, operating grounds maintenance equipment, and performing general repairs to keep our outdoor spaces safe, functional, and visually appealing. This position offers an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about outdoor work, landscaping, and grounds maintenance to contribute to a well-maintained environment through hands-on tasks and technical expertise. Responsibilities Perform landscape maintenance tasks including mowing, trimming, planting, pruning, and weed control to enhance outdoor aesthetics. Operate grounds maintenance equipment such as lawn mowers, power tools, irrigation systems, and hardscape machinery safely and efficiently. Conduct routine inspections of irrigation systems; troubleshoot and repair leaks or malfunctions to ensure proper watering schedules. Manage tree care activities including trimming, pruning, and planting; identify plant species and assess health for proper horticultural practices. Apply pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers following safety protocols to protect plants and maintain healthy landscapes. Assist with snow plowing during winter months; clear pathways, driveways, and parking areas to ensure safety during inclement weather. Follow all safety procedures diligently while handling equipment or working in outdoor environments; report hazards or maintenance issues promptly. Qualifications Proven experience in outdoor work, landscaping, or grounds maintenance with familiarity in landscape care practices. Mechanical knowledge of power tools, hand tools, irrigation systems, and landscaping equipment operation. Knowledge of plant identification, horticulture principles, pesticide management, and hardscape features. Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting heavy objects, operating machinery, and working outdoors in various weather conditions. Construction experience or familiarity with tree care and gardening is a plus. Strong adherence to safety protocols combined with excellent attention to detail.
